White River State Park: The Congressional Medal of Honor Memorial This memorial pays tribute to 3,459 Medal of Honor recipients, an award given by Congress for military valor. The memorial represents 15 different conflicts, ranging from the Civil War through Somalia and is composed of 27 curved glass walls, each 7-10 feet high. Each day at dusk, the memorial's sound system plays recorded stories of medal winners or of the conflicts in which they fought.

IndyGo (Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation) provides options to residents and guests of Indianapolis. There are 30 fixed routes. Including: IndyGo also offers reservation based Flexible Services, including the paratransit service called Open Door. Visitors are eligible to ride with certified guest passes. There are many things outside of Indianapolis to see and do. This gives folks an opportunity for some day trips in the state. :: The Lilly library contains many rare books, manuscripts, and special collections of the Indiana University Libraries. Included is an original of Andreas Vesalius' De humani corporis fabrica as well as many other rare books. The Lilly Library located on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, about an hour's drive south of Indianapolis. :: The State of Indiana and basketball are a perfect fit. From Hoosiers like Wooden, Robertson, Plump, Bird, and Damon Bailey to the thousands of toddlers who pick up their first basketballs at age two or three. The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame celebrates Indiana rich basketball tradition. The museum is located in New castle Indiana, just 35 miles east of Indianapolis, and then 5 miles north of I - 70 on State Road 3. :: The Children's Science & Technology Museum of Terre Haute is a hands-on museum featuring displays such as the space simulator, make believe TV studio, music area and other scientific exhibits. The museum invites visitors to explore the world of science and technology. Located in downtown Terre Haute, the museum is one of 350 mind - opening science museums in the country. :: George Rogers Clark National Historic Park is located in Vincennes, Indiana. This memorial stands on the site of Fort Sackville and commemorates the capture of the fort from British Lt. Governor Henry Hamilton and his soldiers by Lt. Col. George Rogers Clark and his frontiersmen. :: Abraham Lincoln's Boyhood National Memorial preserves the site of the farm where Abraham Lincoln spent 14 formative years of his life, from the ages of 7 to 21. He and his family moved to Indiana in 1816 and stayed until 1830 when they moved on to Illinois. :: Sand dunes in Indiana? Well, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore has just that and much more. Miles and miles of steep sandy beaches and dunes just for hiking or relaxing. The views over Lake Michigan are fantastic. Experience these sights and much more at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, about a 3 hour drive north of Indianapolis near the Michigan border. :: Oliver Winery is an award winning winery located just north of Bloomington, Indiana, about 45 minutes south of Indianapolis. Tradition and specialty wines are produced from grapes grown on the sunny slopes of Southern Indiana's rolling hills.
